Barrie has a multi-facetted role at Manning Elliott. He is in charge of audits and review and compilation engagements in Manning Elliott's private practice group. He prepares financial statements and corporate tax returns for owner-managed companies and income tax returns for individuals and family trusts. He advises individuals on financial, retirement and estate planning matters. And, he deals with scientific research claims and cross-border business taxation issues.
Barrie's practice area covers a wide range of industries including construction, land development, investment, transportation, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, farming and professionals.
His many long-standing clients value Barrie's practical, hands-on approach to providing business solutions. Barrie uses his many years of experience to advantageously integrate the financial results of his clients’ organizations with their personal taxation and financial goals.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia's science program, he received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1976 and joined Manning Elliott in 1980 after practicing as a sole practitioner.
Barrie is a member of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and enjoys sailing our beautiful local waters during summer weekends. In the winter, when not in the office, he likes to recharge by skiing the slopes of Whistler.
