Blair has more than 30 years of experience in a diverse range of business, industry and personal situations that involve: tax, financial planning, estate planning, business succession, accounting, assurance, and compliance related issues for private organizations and individuals.
He particularly enjoys collaborating with clients, as a respected and trusted financial advisor, to help them develop strategies to achieve their financial goals. Blair's industry experience includes real estate, construction, automotive dealers, recycling, medical instruments and professional service organizations especially doctors, architects, engineers and lawyers.
Blair spends many hours of volunteer time to support his profession. He is currently North American region board member of IGAF Polaris. He is past chairman of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountant's International Qualifications Appraisal Board, which studies foreign accounting designations for reciprocity, and is a past member of numerous committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and the District of North Vancouver.
Blair graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1975 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1978. From 1975 to 1986, Blair worked with Price Waterhouse where he rose to senior manager. After growing his own public accounting practice for thirteen years, Blair merged with Manning Elliott in January 2000.
When not at work, Blair and his wife Janie can be found travelling the world, enjoying their recreational property near Fernie, BC and gardening in their backyard at home.
