Robin brings more than thirty years of accounting experience to the firm. His practice primarily involves small to medium sized owner-managed businesses and family holding and investment companies.

Robin formed Manning Elliott's predecessor firm in 1976, having previously worked for a Jim Pattison company and Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in Vancouver and San Francisco.

He received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1969 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia (1965). Still involved with the affairs of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, Robin is a past president (2003) of the Institute and a past chairman of the Professional Liability Insurance Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was elected a fellow of the BC Chartered Accountants in 1991. He is also a member of the Trust and Estate Practitioners Society and the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Robin is very involved in the community. He is a past president of the Central City Foundation and Central City Mission Society, the Arthritis Society of British Columbia, and the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club. He has also been on the executive of the Alumni Association of the University of British Columbia. Currently, he is on the executive of the Sovereign Order of St. John and the Audain Foundation for the Visual Arts. In addition, Robin is a director of a local real estate firm.

Recreationally, Robin plays golf and enjoys retreating with his wife, Eleanor, to their property on the Sunshine Coast of BC.
