Blair has more than 30 years of experience in a diverse range of businesses and industries. His broad expertise extends from tax, financial planning, estate planning, business succession, and accounting, to assurance- and compliance-related issues for private organizations and individuals.
He is a respected and trusted financial advisor who particularly enjoys collaborating with clients to help them develop strategies to achieve their financial goals. Blair's industry experience includes real estate, construction, automobile dealerships, recycling, medical instruments, and professional service organizations—specifically, medical, architectural, engineering, and legal.
Blair is currently the North American region board member at PrimeGlobal. He is past chairman of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ International Qualifications Appraisal Board, which studies foreign accounting designations for reciprocity. He is a past member of numerous committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and of the District of North Vancouver.
Blair graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1975 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1978. From 1975 to 1986, he worked with Price Waterhouse, where he rose to senior manager. After growing his own public accounting practice for thirteen years, Blair joined Manning Elliott in January 2000.
When not at work, Blair and his wife Janie can be found travelling the world, enjoying their recreational property near Fernie, BC, and gardening in their backyard.
