Steve leads Manning Elliott’s Tax Department. His advice to clients in all aspects of personal, corporate, and commodity tax reflects over 35 years of experience in taxation.
Steve provides a broad range of tax services including corporate, personal, and estate tax planning. He assists clients with provincial taxation and advises them on constantly changing tax legislation and the significance to their businesses. He supports clients in disputes with, and representations to, the Canada Revenue Agency. Steve also has extensive experience in valuation engagements for clients in the professional services, retail, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.
A North Vancouver native, Steve graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1980 and received his CA designation in 1981. He left Deloitte & Touche to join Manning Elliott in 1989.
Steve is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and has served on the Taxation Committee for the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPA BC). He has taught the In-Depth Tax Course of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and has lectured extensively for CPA Canada, community groups, and other organizations.
Steve is vice-president of the Canadian Soccer Association’s Board of Directors and chairs the Audit and Finance Committee. He achieved distinction during his playing career in adult amateur soccer in Vancouver and Victoria.
