Purpose of Role:
  • Provide superb team member experience when dealing with the IT department.  This roles primary objective will include expert back end knowledge in the firm’s software and integration and development across those platforms.   Support of the network, desktop and server infrastructure at the head office and offices within the lower mainland.

  • Senior IT Manager

 
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
  • Knowledge of systems infrastructure:
    • Microsoft servers, Active directory, Group policies, Powershell, Exchange, Azure, Office 365, SQL
    • VMware, Vmotion, Vsphere
    • Citrix Xenapp Server with Netscaler in a VDI environment
    • General working knowledge of networking technologies such as firewalls, switches, routing and wireless
    • General working knowledge of server hardware such as SAN, NAS, Servers,
    • IT security principals
    • Backup software’s such as Veeam, Commvault, Symantec an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of Software and development skills:
    • Efficient programming skills that relate to code development, integration between applications, maintenance and implementation
    • Management of databases and data across different types of databases and various data sets
    • Working with API technologies such as Rest, RPC, SOAP
    • .NET, Java, C++, Python, PHP and other platforms
    • Use of a code tracking, versioning and bug tracking software
    • Power shell, bash, visual basics, XML, JSON and other scripting
    • Microsoft SQL and MySQL
  • IT support roles supporting team members remotely and in-person
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodology and/or industry best practices
  • Previous use of any commercial ITSM based ticketing system such as Connectwise
  • Previous experience with any commercial monitoring system such as Connectwise
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem solving ability
  • Ability to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure design and concepts
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong documentation skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Knowledge of financial applications will be a big asset
  • Microsoft developer certifications are an asset
 
Responsibilities:
  • Working and managing the firms software and integration of software amongst different software platforms
  • Integrating different data sets to achieve the firms operational and business requirements
  • Working with managing third party vendors for integration and deployment of new software and features
  • Developing and maintaining software and integrations for the firms different platforms
  • Tier 1 – 3 support for desktops and end user devices, network and servers
  • Working on IT driven initiatives including upgrades, system builds, network security and other projects.
  • Working with other team members for escalation and training
  • Maintains a service level for firm’s user base through use of ITSM systems, processes, procedures and policies
  • Participating in the IT emergency on-call rotation
  • Writing documentation including SOW, SOP, diagrams, build documentation, KB, checklists, runbooks, project documentation
  • Basic operational administration of the organizations IT infrastructure including: Firewalls, Exchange, Office 365, Active Directory, Citrix Xenapp, Citrix Netscaler, Citrix Studio, Citrix Director, Citrix Storefront, RSA, Backups, Vmware, Azure, Monitoring, SAN, Servers, Networking, Security, VPN, Video Conferencing, Virus scan
  • Onsite support when scheduled at the firm’s offices across the lower mainland
  • Promotes the organizations quality control standards
  • Participate in the organizations team development and performance management program
  • Actively supports and participates in firm wide initiatives
