Herbert specializes in auditing, accounting, and assurance for Canadian and US public companies. He is an expert in financial reporting and internal control. 

About Herbert

He advises clients on complex accounting and reporting matters under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP. He enjoys helping his clients navigate through complex accounting and reporting issues and providing them with clear and effective recommendations. Herbert has extensive experience with a wide range of industry sectors including technology, mining, manufacturing, financial services, hospitality, and real estate.

Herbert joined Manning Elliott in 2020 as a partner. Before joining Manning Elliott, he was at Deloitte for 19 years (in Canada and the US), most recently as an Audit and Assurance partner. His prior experience also includes serving in senior financial reporting roles at two public companies and as a staff accountant with a local accounting firm where he began his accounting career.

Herbert has served as a member of the CPABC Public Company Forum since 2014 and was previously a member of CPABC Practice Review and Licensing Committee. 

When not in the office, Herbert is living an active lifestyle and can be found skiing, biking, or enjoying a round of golf. Herbert is also a dedicated family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.

Education

He graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1997 with a Bachelor of Commerce. Herbert obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2000.
