About Leo

Leo joined Manning Elliott in September 2020. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a partner at the Coquitlam office of Carlyle Shepherd & Co., before the firm’s merger with Manning Elliott. Throughout his 30 plus year career, Leo has provided his clients with critical decision making and practical, holistic and integrated solutions for them. His clients appreciate his hands-on approach and ability to explain complex accounting rules in terms they can understand.

Leo served as a member of the Coquitlam Rotary Club as a treasurer, secretary, vice-president and president.  During that time, he advocated for a wider female presence in the Club, and within five years, the genders were equally represented within the Club. Throughout the years, Leo also served as a member of The Tri-City Chamber of Commerce, Vipassana Meditation Centre of B.C., Step-by-step Child Development Society, BC, and Centennial High School Adult Education Program.

When not in the office, Leo can be found enjoying the outdoors by kayaking, gardening and walking. Leo is a firm believer in expanding one’s personal development and does so through his love for literature and meditation. Being a dedicated father and grandfather, Leo also enjoys spending time with his family.

Leo obtained his CPA, CA designation in 1974 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia after completing his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Simon Fraser University in 1971.
