About Steve

His advice to clients in all aspects of personal, corporate, and commodity tax reflects over 39 years of experience in taxation.

He assists clients with provincial taxation and advises them on constantly changing tax legislation and the significance to their businesses. He supports clients in disputes with, and representations to, the Canada Revenue Agency. Steve also has extensive experience in valuation engagements for clients in the professional services, retail, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.

Whether giving insightful tax presentations to special interest groups and businesses, to mentoring aspiring CPA professionals during their career progression, Steve has done an extraordinary amount of work to raise awareness of CPAs as subject matter experts. As such, Steve was recognized by CPABC with a fellowship (FCPA) in February of 2019. The FCPA distinction is the highest achievable honour that a CPA within the accounting profession can aspire to obtain. Nominated and selected by a committee of their peers, FCPAs are leaders, innovators, and mentors known for their dedication and commitment to their community and to the CPA profession.

Steve is president of the Canadian Soccer Association’s Board of Directors and chairs the Audit and Finance Committee. He achieved distinction during his playing career in adult amateur soccer in Vancouver and Victoria.


A North Vancouver native, Steve graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1980 and received his CA designation in 1981. He left Deloitte & Touche to join Manning Elliott in 1989.

Steve is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and has served on the Taxation Committee for the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC). He has taught the In-Depth Tax Course of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and has lectured extensively for CPA Canada, community groups, and other organizations.
